One Day I'll Need This

For years, I've been collecting good ideas and helpful tips saved from emails and ripped out of magazines. The stack became overwhelming, but I could never figure out the best way to organize and catalog the information. As I was lamenting, once again, that I had no plan for my bundles of golden information, my husband suggested a blog. So this is mainly just for me and for my files. If you find something useful, great! I know that ONE DAY I'LL NEED THIS, and now I'll be able to find it easily.

Bookseer

Head to BookSeer and type in the title of the book you last read and loved, and the site gives you a list of suggestions based on information compiled from Amazon, LibraryThing, and BookArmy.

Book Subscription

I wrote here about a book subscription service. Another one is Bookswim.com. You can rent classic and new titles with free shipping. Subscriptions range from $15 a month for 2 books to $36 for 11 books.

LibraryThing

You can create a searchable catalog of your books using LibraryThing.

LibraryThing helps you create a library-quality catalog of your books. You can do all of them or just what you're reading now.

It also has a widget you can add to your blog, a phone-friendly site to check while shopping for books, free copies of books in exchange for reviews, a shareable book profile, and a gateway to your local bookstores.

NetFlix for Books?

Yep. At Booksfree you can pay a monthly fee and borrow from a library of 40,000 paperbooks and return them when you're finished. Seems like a good deal for someone who doesn't have easy access to a library. They also have audio books. Prices range from $9.99 for 2 books at a time to $37.99 for 12 books at a time.

Tasting Party

I have hosted a Chocolate Tasting party several times, and everyone has always enjoyed it. This book has ideas and information for different kinds of tasting parties like tea, wine, cheese, honey, balsamic vinegar, or apples. I'd love to do them all!
